A contraction is a shortened form of one or two words (one of which is usually a verb). In a contraction, an apostrophe takes the place of the missing letter or letters.
Hey kids, I'm bubbles and i am going to show you how to form the contractions of the verb 'will'. To form the contraction of 'I will', we will cross out 'wi' out of will then put an apostrophe in their space. Look at the examples below.
I will I will I'll He will he will he'll She will she will she'll
Let us now learn how to contract 'do not'. First, we join the words to get 'donot' then we cross out the 'o' in 'not' and put an apostrophe in its place, hence, we are left with 'don't'. Remember, in contraction, an apostrophe takes the place of the missing letter or letters.
