As a future educator, I look forward to educating the minds of Jamaica's future; to provide them with an environment that is safe, stimulating and condusive to learning. I will ensure that as an educator I act as a guide for my students and provide them with as much information as I can. I will incorporate facilitative learning to allow for my students to gain principles such as: authentic, strong, trustworthy relationships; build on and expand on each other's learning; help others to set and work towards their goals among other principles. I strongly believe that the children are the future and as such, I am committed to helping them to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially.
My Philosophy of Educational Technology
"The door to the world is education and technology is the key."
Students need to have the knowledge, interest, and ability to function in the world. It is the duty of teachers to ensure that students are given an education in order to achieve all these. Doors of learning opportunities are available to students but many students are unable to access these opportunities because they do not have the key. What is the key you may ask. I say to you, the key is technology. Education allows students to gain the knowledge and wisdom needed to function in the world but technology gives them the experience of exploring the world. The combination of education and technology exposes students to the world in which they live; assist students in becoming creative problem solvers and innovative thinkers and students will become familiar with the rapid revolution in technology and obtain the ability to adapt to change.
We live within the 21st Century which technology has dominated. Students need to be familiar with technology from within the classroom so that they can prepare for a technology dominated future. We can prepare the students by giving them access to educational technology in the classroom.
